The M.H.Sufi Foundation Schools are all located in the rural areas of District Hafizabad. These areas are deprived of proper education facilities, as the state owned educational efforts are grossly inadequate, both in quantity and quality.
Each of the foundation schools were and are initially launched with student enrollment at the junior most level (Prep Junior-1). With each successive year and as the enrolled students progress to the next grade, additional classes are added. The main campus is situated in Koth Ishaq Village and was established in 1995 according to the same development model. Today it provides premium education from Prep Junior-Grade 12.
As the M.H Sufi foundation expanded, it opened other campuses. In 2006, the schools in Kaleki Mandi, Ramki Chatha, and Kassese were instituted though funds generated by the donations of friends and family, and these schools emulated the same growth model. Having been established later, these institutions provide schooling up to grade 7.
In June 2010, the Foundation received funding from the Japanese embassy in Pakistan for the construction of a school campus in Saroopwala, Hafizabad; and the school was completed in April 2011. In November 2010, the M.H Sufi Foundation also received funding from the Pakistan-Italian Dept Swap Agreement (PIDSA), for the construction of 5 primary schools, offering education for children from Prep Junior-5th grade. These five schools are situated in Jalalpur Bhattian, Kot Ghazi, Kot Sajana, Channi Janna, and Mailak (view spread).
M.H. Sufi Foundation has a total of 18 schools across district Hafiz Abad.
Fee Structure
The M.H Sufi foundation operated according to a financial model that involves self-sufficiency in terms of operating purposes, this ensures financial sustainability for the schools. However, the capital expenditures are financed through external sources such as donations and funds. These expenditures involve the expansion of current facilities, the acquisition of land, construction of school buildings, and other related disbursements.
Donations may be non-financial as well. The school fees are significantly subsidized to ensure that education is made affordable for all. Maintaining the same standard of education as available in urban areas, the enrollment fee at the M.H Sufi schools is a fraction of that found in the cities. Furthermore, the foundation has catered to all segments of the rural setting by providing scholarships to students in need. (Chart)
Extra Curricular Activities
The Foundation recognizes the importance of co-curricular activities along with curricular activities. Due attention is paid to the development of each child’s personality. For this purpose, all students are given equal opportunities for participation in debates, art Exhibitions, competitions & different societies. The Foundation regularly celebrates occasions like Pakistan Day, Independence Day, Iqbal day, Quaid e’ Azim day, religious festivals, and fun fairs etc. In order to encourage students to excel in studies and sports alike, prize distribution functions are also held on an annual basis.
The Institute also manages educational and excursion trips for students and teachers. Sports is yet another area where a lot of emphasis is placed. Badminton, soccer, throw ball, cricket, and hockey are highly celebrated at the schools.
